Absolut Radio is the umbrella brand of Absolut Digital GmbH & Co. KG. Until the end of January 2019 there was also a private radio station of the same name , which now operates as Absolut musicXL . Absolut Radio's programs are broadcast worldwide via DAB + and the Internet. Until September 5, 2013, the Absolut Radio program could also be received nationwide digitally terrestrially via the DAB + federal mux.
Since September 6, 2013, the Absolut Radio program has been broadcast exclusively via the Internet; its sister station Absolut relax took over its place in the nationwide DAB ensemble . The resulting capacity for Absolut relax in the state-wide ensembles in Bavaria and Hesse was taken over by the Absolut HOT youth program, which started on the same day .
In October 2017 and November 2017, two more special interest channels were launched: Absolut Bella and Absolut Oldie Classics . Both channels can be received via internet stream and apps.

The program of the station Absolut Radio has been broadcast since August 1, 2011. The transmitter is based in the Funkhaus Regensburg , where Gong FM , Radio Charivari Regensburg and Radio Galaxy also produce their programs.
Since February 2019 the program has been called Absolut Radio Absolut musicXL.
Absolut Radio is building the 2nd DAB + Bundesmux together with Media Broadcast and operates it under the name Antenne Deutschland . As of July 10, 2020, 14 of 16 places in this digital radio channel of Antenne Deutschland, which can be received throughout Germany, have already been taken. Absolut Radio is contributing six programs. The start is planned for October 2020.

The Absolut musicXL program is aimed at a wide-ranging target group from the early twenties to the generation of the “ best agers ”. Absolut Radio's album-oriented music format (AOM) is moving towards album-oriented rock (AOR), which is particularly successful in the United States. In this way, Absolut musicXL wants to offer an alternative to the common formats AC and CHR hit music.

Absolut musicXL not only plays well-known artists and their lesser-known titles, but also new national and international artists who are relatively unknown and otherwise do not play on the radio. Absolut musicXL stands for music from over five decades and is neither limited to single releases nor to a certain degree of recognition of an artist.
On-line
Absolut Radio places a special focus on the integration of various online platforms and social media channels. Entertaining topics as well as serious discussions from media, entertainment, culture and lifestyle are taken up there. The online portal is also supplemented by various blogs . Members of the editorial team and the moderation team as well as interested listeners who can become part of the community team blog. A separate area of the website deals with topics related to records and offers not only articles but also music specials under the title “Vinyl Revue”. In addition, an artist archive with details on the artists played "on air" and articles on various topics complete the Internet portal.
