The Birdsville Developmental Road is a dirt road in the southeast of the Australian state of Queensland . The road is 277 km long and connects Diamantina Developmental Road west of Windorah with Birdsville . It leads north along the Strzelecki Desert and Haddon Corner .

109 km west of Windorah , the Birdsville Developmental Road branches off from the Diamantina Developmental Road to the west-southwest and runs in the direction of Haddon Corner. Approx. 40 km north of the border with South Australia , it leads west through the settlement Betoota and along the north bank of the salt lake Moonda Lake . A little later she meets the Diamantina River , whose south bank she accompanies to Birdsville.

The highest point along the highway is 178 m, the lowest is 35 m.
