The place goes back to an estate first mentioned in 1345 as villa Absteten , which was then lent to the lords of Wunnenstein by Bishop Albrecht von Würzburg . As a result, the Abstetterhof was for a long time part of the village of Winzerhausen , located below the Wunnenstein . In 1500, the farm was owned by Ulrich and Heinrich Scheffer as a Württemberg fief . The size of the associated agricultural land was around 340 acres and the Scheffers (possibly brothers) kept sheep there. The estate was divided and parceled out several times in the period that followed; in the course of the 19th century, the basic loads were finally replaced and the parcels became private property. While Abstetterhof was still part of Winzerhausen, where there were school and church for the residents, but where only poor road connections led and from where an insufficient water supply had been established in 1927, all economic traffic with the nearby town of Auenstein was handled . In 1931 a first application was made for allocation to the community of Auenstein, which was rejected by Winzerhausen with a complaint to the district council. After a renewed application for incorporation into Auenstein in 1934, this was carried out the following year. Between 1866 and 1968 the place had an almost constant population of around 110 to 120 people. Abstetterhof came to Ilsfeld with Auenstein on December 31, 1973.
