Abu l-Fawaris Ahmad ibn Ali ibn al-Ichschid ( Arabic أبو الفوارس أحمد بن علي بن الإخشيد, DMG Abū 'l-Fawāris Aḥmad b. ʿAlī b. al-Iḫšīd ; * 957 ; † 987 ) was a ruler of the Ichschididen in Egypt (968–969).

After the death of Kafur (946–968), the Ichshidide Abu l-Fawaris Ahmad took over the rule at the age of eleven. However , he and his empire could no longer withstand a new attack by the Fatimids from Ifrīqiya .

The vizier of the Ichschididen also concluded a treaty with Jawhar as-Siqillī on the transfer of power and the guarantee of religious freedom for the Sunni Muslims by the Ismaili Fatimids. As a result of these agreements, Jawhar was able to break the resistance of the last loyal Ichschidid troops and occupy Egypt in 969. With the establishment of Cairo and the resettlement of the Caliph Abu Tamim al-Muizz , Egypt became the political center of the Fatimid Empire.
