Abukari Sumani

Abukari Sumani (born April 28, 1946 in Savelugu ) is a Ghanaian diplomat and member of parliament.

In 1970 he received a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Ghana and in 1972 at the Ghana School of Law .

Abukari Sumani is widowed and has ten children. He belongs to the Islamic faith. Abukari Sumani practiced the profession of lawyer in agriculture . From 1994 to 2001 he was the Ghanaian ambassador to Riyadh ( Saudi Arabia ) and was based in Riyadh and accredited to the states of the Gulf Cooperation Council and Islamabad ( Pakistan ). In January 2001 he was elected in the constituency of Tamale North with 31,127 votes out of 54,960 valid votes (56.5%) as a candidate for the National Democratic Congress in the parliament of Ghana .
