The Chœur de chambre Accentus is a French professional chamber choir founded in 1991 by Laurence Equilbey . The repertoire focuses on the performance of a cappella choir works, especially of contemporary vocal music.

history

The choir was founded in 1991 by Laurence Equilbey, who studied at the conservatories in Paris and Vienna and gained practical experience with Nikolaus Harnoncourt and the Arnold Schoenberg Choir . Her most important conducting teacher was the Swedish choir director Eric Ericson .

The choir has given numerous world premieres of contemporary choral works such as Granum Sinapis (1998) and Dona eis (1999) by Pascal Dusapin , as well as the French premiere of Outis by Luciano Berio (1999). The choir also works together with orchestras such as the Ensemble intercontemporain or the Orchester de Paris under the direction of u. a. by Pierre Boulez , Jonathan Nott and Christoph Eschenbach . He is also involved in opera productions a. a. involved in the Opéra de Rouen and the Paris Opera . The Fondation France Telecom has been a permanent sponsor of the choir since 1993 .
