Achill Scheuerle

Achill Scheuerle (born September 10, 1878 in Neu-Ulm ; † November 24, 1959 in Nuremberg ) was a German businessman and company owner. From 1947 until his death in 1959 he was a member of the Bavarian Senate .

Life

After Scheuerle had attended grammar school in Ulm for five years , he began a commercial apprenticeship. Later he worked professionally abroad, both in Europe and in North and Central America and in the French colonies . From 1911 he worked for the import and export company Alfred Graf in Nuremberg. He later became its owner. In 1932 he became Norwegian Vice Consul and in 1934 Norwegian Consul for Nuremberg. From 1946 to 1948 he was President of the Nuremberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry , after which he became its Honorary President . He was also a member of the advisory state committee that prepared the Bavarian constitutional state assembly . Scheuerle was a member of the Evangelical Church throughout his life . Scheuerle was also chairman of the supervisory board of Nürnberger Lebensversicherungs AG, as well as the holder of the Bavarian Order of Merit and the Order of Merit on Ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany.

In 1947 he was a member of the Bavarian Senate as a representative of industry and trade . From 1958 until his death he was its age-president . In the Senate, he was a member of the building committee, the main committee and the economic committee.
