Achim Scheu

Achim Scheu (born October 7, 1971 in Mainz ) is a sports reporter , radio presenter and freelance journalist .

Radio

At the age of 15, Scheu began working as a freelancer in the sports department of what was then Südwestfunk (SWF) in Baden-Baden in addition to his school education . With the merger of the SWF with the Süddeutscher Rundfunk (SDR) to form Südwestrundfunk (SWR) in 1998, Scheu moved to the then newly founded radio sports editorial office in Mainz. Since then he has moderated the Bundesliga broadcast " SWR1 Stadion". Since 2005 he has also been working as a Bundesliga live reporter for ARD.

From 1995 to 1998 Scheu worked for the sports department of the ZDF as an editor for ski jumping and soccer, in the editorial team of “ heute Sport”, the “ current sports studio ” and the “sports report”.

Private

Scheu is married and lives near Mainz. He is the son of Hans-Reinhard Scheu , who was one of the defining voices of the ARD Bundesliga conference until 2005 .
