Achim Thiel (born October 16, 1962 ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
Thiel played with Kickers Offenbach in the 1983/84 season in the Bundesliga . He made his debut on matchday 24 in the 4-0 defeat against Hamburger SV . During the season he played nine more games. The Kickers occupied the penultimate place in the table and were relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga . Thiel was only used there in the 1987/88 season . He was a regular under coach Dieter Renner and made 37 appearances in 38 league games. In the following season he played 33 games and finished 15th in the table with Offenbach, but the sporting success could not save the club. The license was withdrawn from the kickers by the DFB .
