Achmed Abdel-Salam (born April 29, 1983 in Vienna ) is an Austrian screenwriter , actor and director .

Life

Achmed Abdel-Salam grew up in Vienna , where his parents ran an electronics store and a video store, so that he came into contact with the medium of film very early on. Already during his school days he wanted to become an actor and make his own films. In 2007 he made his first short film, in 2008 a low-budget feature film, for which he also wrote the script.

In 2010, Abdel-Salam was admitted to the bachelor's degree in books and dramaturgy at the Vienna Film Academy , which he graduated with honors in 2014. He is currently doing his master's degree there.

His feature film treatment Der Rand was awarded the Carl Mayer Prize in 2013 as part of the Diagonale . The following year he received a one-year scriptwriting grant from the Literar Mechana .

In 2015 and 2016 he worked as an illustrator for the children's book Der Online-Zoo by ISPA - Internet Service Providers . He is currently working on several feature film scripts and developing a TV series as a member of a writers' room.

Achmed Abdel-Salam writes, plays, studies and shoots in Vienna, where he also lives with his family.
