The Ackerman nunatak is a 655 m high and isolated nunatak that looms 10.5 km south-southeast of the Butler Rocks in the northern Forrestal Range of the Pensacola Mountains .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of surveys and using aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1956 and 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it after the US Airbrushing Thomas A. Ackerman, of the occupation of the Ellsworth Station in Winter 1957 belonged.
