Acrania is a British death metal band from London , United Kingdom .
history
Acrania was founded in 2012 in the British capital, London . After several line-up changes, the band consists of singer Luke Griffin and drummer Jake Hadley - both of whom are also active in Human Error . Former guitarists Eddie Pickard and Jack Simmons are now active in groups such as Infant Annihilator and Black Tongue and Slaughter to Prevail .
In September 2012, the band released a split single with Blue Waffle under the title Galactic Infections . At the end of January of the following year, An EP, The Beginning of the End , followed, which was released on their own. Guest musicians include the former Pathology singer Kevin Schwartz in the song A Trophy of Corporate Disfigurement . After the band signed a recording contract with Unique Leader Records , the debut album Totalitarian Dystopia followed in August 2014 . Guest musicians were Tom Barber , Jamie Hanks from I Declare War and Mendel from Aborted . Another EP, Tyrannical Hierarchy: Vol I , will be released at the end of November 2018 .
style
Acrania plays a modern take on Death Metal , which mixes elements of Deathcore like the likes of Whitechapel and Carnifex play with the melodic aggressiveness of Aborted . Musical elements from Technical Death Metal , Slam Death Metal and Grindcore are also used. In their music, blast beats , double bass , double time growls and extreme tempo changes from "very fast to exaggeratedly slow" are used, which makes it appear dynamic.
In their lyrics the musicians process their aversion to capitalist and corrupt political systems . The group continues the lyrical concept from the EP The Beginning of the End .

The song line "Send them to the slaughterhouse" ( German about "brings them to the slaughterhouse " ) from the song Disillusion in a Discordant System - to be found on the debut album Totalitarian Dystopia - advanced to a viral hit in the extreme metal scene .
