Pathology is an American grindcore band from San Diego / California that was founded in 2006 and mixes their music with death metal . The band was founded by David Astor , who already played for Cattle Decapitation and Parasatic .

history

After Astor left the band Cattle Decapitation in 2003, he played for Parasatic before forming the band Pathology in 2006. He did this because he could only partially implement his own ideas at Parasatic.

With Tim Tiszczenko ( guitar ) and Ramon Mercado ( vocals ) two more musicians joined Astor. The trio agreed directly on a music genre: Grindcore with borrowings from brutal Death Metal .

Appeared already in the first year with Surgically Hacked her debut album whose cover artwork with the early Cannibal Corpse is comparable -albums. On the side, Astor and Tiszczenko founded the side project Being Killed . However, there Astor acts as a bassist and drum programmer. The singer of the project was Levi Fuselier, who briefly picked up the microphone at Pathology after Ramon Mercado left the group.

In 2008, Nick Gervais, a second guitarist, joined the band. Together they released the second studio album Incisions of Perverse Debauchery .

Incisions Of Perverse Debauchery was to be the band's only album with Fuselier as vocalist. After Disgorge singer Matti Way left his band, he joined Pathology. Fuselier switched to Disgorge.

In 2009, Age of Onset was the group's third studio album, each with a different singer. Matti Way got out of Pathology in the meantime, so that the band stood for some time without a singer. In the meantime, Pasqual Romero was found another singer. Romero was the bassist for the metalcore band In This Moment in 2005 . However, no album was released with him.

In 2010 the line-up changed again. Matti Way, who dropped out, returned to the band and brought in Disgorge guitarist Diego Sanchez further reinforcement for the band. In July 2010, Legacy of the Ancients was their fourth studio album. Guitarist Tim Tiszczenko also had to play the bass guitar on all albums. Oscar Ramirez will take over the bass guitar for their national tour, which the band does with Nile , Belphegor , Neuraxis , Blackguard , Deicide , Psycroptic , Abigail Williams , Ex Deo and Keep of Kalessin .

On October 17, during a concert in Los Angeles with the band Vader , guitarist Tim Tiszczenko announced that he was leaving the band. He decided to take this step because he could no longer connect the band life with his private life. The album Incisions of Perverse Debauchery was confiscated nationwide on February 22, 2012 by the Regensburg District Court for violating Section 131 of the German Criminal Code ( representation of violence ).

Jonathan Huber, former singer of I Declare War , has been a singer with Pathology since 2011 . With him, the band released the studio album Awaken to the Suffering in 2011 .

A year later, the band released the studio album The Time of Great Purification . Immediately after the release of this album, singer Jonathan Huber left the band for personal reasons. Ex-singer Matti Way (meanwhile also singer of the band Abominable Putridity ) took over the post again.

With the "new-old" singer Matti Way, the album Lords of Rephaim was released in 2013 by ( Sevared Records ) .

The band released an album again in 2014. Throne of Reign was released like the last album ( Lords of Rephaim ) by ( Sevared Records ).
