Ad Astra (magazine series)
Ad Astra was a science fiction series published by Pabel Verlag from 1967 to 1968 , which was part of the booklet series Utopia .
After the Mark Powers series, Ad Astra was the second and last attempt by Pabel Verlag to copy the extremely successful series concept of the Perry Rhodan series , which was published by Moewig Verlag at the time - the two publishers have now merged . The series was conceived by HG Francis , who also headed the editorial team. In addition to him, Thomas RP Mielke , Rolf W. Liersch (as Arno Zoller) and Jürgen Grasmück (under the pseudonym JA Garrett) were involved as authors. The short-lived cycle with 21 titles deals with the adventures of earthly space travelers in the Sol and Alpha Centauri systems .
In 2007, the Heinz Mohlberg Verlag in Cologne started a new edition of the series in a revised version. By 2010, the 21 novels of the original series had appeared in 11 edited volumes. From 2011 a continuation of the series appeared with new authors, including Thomas TC Franke , Melanie Brosowski , Margret Schwekendiek and Oliver Müller .
