Ada von Gersdorff

Ada von Gersdorff ( pseudonym : Harry von Gersdorff , name in second marriage: Ada von Maltzahn ; * May 14, 1854 in Czarnikau / Posen as Ada von Knobloch ; † May 10, 1922 in Swinoujscie ) was a German writer .

Life

Ada von Gersdorff came from the von Knobloch noble family ; Her father was Arthur von Knobloch , the district administrator and later majorate in the East Prussian Sudnicken , her mother Ada was a daughter of the Prussian cavalry general Gustav Adolf von Schlemüller . Ada von Gersdorff grew up in Posen and was tutored by private tutors . In 1873 she married the Prussian captain Gero von Gersdorff ; the marriage was divorced in 1878 . Ada von Gersdorff returned with her son to her parents in East Prussia . They traveled extensively and perverse in Berlin in courtly circles. In 1894 she got her second marriage to baron Ludolf Hellmuth von Maltzahn . After he died in 1904, she was based in Berlin, from 1906 in Wilmersdorf and finally in Swinoujscie .

Ada von Gersdorff was a successful author of numerous novels and stories , which are often set in court or military milieu .
