Adalbero of Saxony (Athelbero; short: Bern or Berno) († 982 ) was Count Palatine of Saxony, Count in the Saxon Hessengau and Liesgau , and Vogt of the Hilwartshausen monastery .

According to a document from the year 958 he was in the Saxon Hessengau, in the area of Großeneder , the Gogericht (Count's Court).

In the Leinegau it was probably located in the royal palace of Gruona , opposite the village Gutingi, first mentioned in 953 (today's city of Göttingen ).

Marriages and offspring

In 958 he married. The fact that his wife (in second marriage) Ida von Schwaben (approx. 932 / 34-17 May 986; daughter of Duke Hermann I ) was rejected by the majority of researchers.
