Adam (painter family)

The Adam family is a family of painters from Munich who worked for four generations in the 19th and 20th centuries.

It includes:

1. Albrecht Adam (1786–1862) married to Magdalena Adam (née Sander) (1793–1863)
   1. Benno Adam (1812–1892), son of Albrechts married to Josepha Adam (1821–1871) (née Quaglio, daughter of Domenico Quaglio )
      1. Emil Adam (1843–1924), son of Benno
         1. Richard Benno Adam (1873–1937), son of Emil
   2. Franz I Adam (1815–1886), son of Albrechts, married to Ida von Hornstein Grüningen
      1. Alexander I Pompeius Adam (1861–1941), married to Flora Fay (1858–1913) (rel. V. Barabas, Hungary, who brought a daughter Olga v. Barabas into the marriage)
         1. Alexander II Adam (1889–1929), doctor in Kochel am See
         2. Paulus Adam (1882–1956), cabinet maker and painter, married. with Bertha Götz (ceramic painter)
   3. Eugen Adam (1817–1880), son of Albrecht
   4. Julius I Adam (1821–1874), son of Albrechts married to Therese Adam (born Ravizza 1825–1904), photographer
      1. Julius II Adam (1852–1913), son of Julius, known as Katzenadam
         1. Julius III Konstantin Maria Adam (1895–1969), painter, godson of Julius II Adam
2. Heinrich Adam (1787–1862), brother of Albrechts
