Adam John Farley (born January 12, 1980 in Liverpool ) is a former English football player.
Career
Farley joined Everton in 1996 and won the FA Youth Cup in 1998 alongside Richard Dunne , Tony Hibbert and Leon Osman . He had previously signed a professional contract in February 1998 but failed to assert himself at Everton. For his only competitive game for the Toffees , the tall defender came on February 7, 1999, when he came on in the second half in the 2-1 away defeat by Derby County . After a cheekbone fracture in March 1999, he had problems in the reserve team to get playing time in the 1999/2000 season and left Everton at the end of the season.
Farley continued his footballing career in non-league football from summer 2000 and played for FC Altrincham , FC Droylsden and Witton Albion (27 goalless competitive appearances in 2004/05) before he returned to Liverpool in 2005 and signed on with FC Marine . In 2008 he won the Liverpool Senior Cup with the Mariners with a 2-1 win over the reserves of Liverpool FC ; In 2009 he left the club. In December 2009, Farley and three teammates at Marine were found guilty of betting against their own team by the Football Association . In addition to being suspended for nine months, he was also fined £ 250. After his suspension Farley hired at Leigh Genesis in the eight-class Division One North of the Northern Premier League , before he was drawn two months later by Gary Martindale to the ninth-class FC Formby in the North West Counties Football League . His stay there was short-lived and after Martindale's resignation in January 2011, he left the club with John Flawless and moved to Burscough in the Northern Premier League. In November 2011 Farley joined the AFC Liverpool in the North West Counties Football League, for which he was used in 18 games by the end of the season.
