Adam from Vilna

Adam from Wilna ( Polish Adam z Wilna ; † 1517 ) was clerk of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and later a canon in Vilnius .

Life

Adam attended the Cathedral School in Vilnius and then studied from 1478 to 1489 at the University of Krakow , where he received a Baccalaureus in 1482 and a master's degree in 1488 .

From 1492 he was the clerk in Vilnius and was also often on the road as an envoy. In 1494 he was twice in Moscow to assure that Helena of Moscow could keep her denomination, and in 1496 in Krakow to equip Sigismund .

He also wrote the Latin legal act of the Union of Krakow and Vilnius of 1499.

In 1505 he took part in the commission for establishing the borders between Lithuania and Courland. A short time later he became the office secretary, which is documented for the year 1510.
