Others

  • The title “Bend it like Bender” alludes to the film “Bend it like Beckham” (German: Kick it like Beckham ) and to the character Bender from the animated film series Futurama . It contains a short sample of a Bender speech sequence.
  • Townsend came into contact with Anneke van Giersbergen because she happened to contact him by email shortly before the scheduled start of admission. She sent him a link to a video recording of her band with which she interpreted the song "Hyperdrive", which was originally included on Townsend's album "Ziltoid the Omniscient". This convinced Townsend so much that he decided to invite van Giersbergen as a guest singer as well as to record a new version of "Hyperdrive".
  • Townsend said he had dreamed the song “Ih-Ah!”, Which also explains the title that was so in the dream. Townsend reports that he woke up at 3:30 in the morning with the song in his head and immediately started recording it - the recording was completed by noon that day, except for the singing. Since it was created after the actual recording sessions for Addicted had already been completed, according to the information in the booklet of the CD, this song is not performed by Anneke van Giersbergen, but by Susanne Richter in the background. Townsend also created the drums for this song with the drum computer software Drumkit From Hell .
  • According to the album's booklet, the song "Resolve!" Was directly influenced by the English band The Wildhearts, of which Townsend was a member in 1994.
  • Townsend said it used more than 250 audio tracks per song on Twitter .
