Adele Muzzarelli Beckmann

Adele Beckmann née Adele Muzzarelli ( June 4, 1816 in Vienna - November 3, 1885 in Batignolles , France ) was an Italian soubrette , opera singer ( soprano ) and dancer .

Life

The granddaughter of the ballet master Muzarelli, at the time the founder of the ballet founded by Emperor Josef and the daughter of the tenorist Antonio Muzzarelli , took singing lessons from Giuseppe Ciccimara at an early age and was engaged as a chorister at the court opera theater. Soon afterwards she came to Brno, where she worked for two years. In 1835 she went to the Königstädtische Theater Berlin. She stayed there until 1845. In 1838 Adele Muzzarelli married the then famous comedian Friedrich Beckmann . In 1845 she retired from the stage.

She was the founder of the Friedrich Beckmann Foundation for the support of needy Austrian theater members , who looked after “unemployed, worthy, needy German actors and actresses, etc., from whatever city and denomination they may be, according to merit and distressed situation”. She bequeathed her not inconsiderable fortune to this foundation.
