history

In 1987, the current old building with wings A and B, the library, the gym and part of the administration were inaugurated. In the A wing, there are mostly specialist rooms for science lessons and small lecture halls - called “demo rooms”. In addition, there are the classrooms for the upper level on the upper floor and the specialist rooms for music lessons in the basement. Over the years the school had to expand to accommodate the growing number of students. An additional, modern C-wing was added, where classes 7-10 are now housed. There is also the cafeteria with kitchen, a small gym, the specialist rooms for the housekeeping and technology courses (basement) and a play area for schoolchildren, supervised by social workers. The students can go through a large portal from the C-wing into the break hall, while the teachers have a connection to the teachers' room through a small additional extension with a connecting corridor. Another part of the administration is housed in this additional annex.

The school also has a large school garden and an atrium between the library and the break hall and between the B and C wings. In the lower schoolyard, the larger of the two schoolyards, there is a generously designed amphitheater , which was co-financed by the sponsoring association. The completely refurbished toilets in the basement of the A wing have been open to all members of the school since the 2010/2011 school year. In order to maintain the cleanliness and the current condition of the toilets and to be able to pay the toilet specialist, who has now been specially hired for this, everyone has to pay a usage fee, which at the beginning of the school year is 2.50 euros per student.

It was initially a secondary school before it was converted into a comprehensive school and today's secondary schools in Lüdenscheid began their service.
