Adolf Abrahamowicz
Adolf Abrahamowicz (born November 7, 1849 in Lemberg , † August 16, 1899 in Targowica Polna in Pokutien ) was a playwright who dealt with contemporary society in his comedies . His brother was the politician David Abrahamowicz .
Life
Adolf Abrahamowicz was born as the son of Tomasz Abrahamowicz in a landowning family of Armenian origin. He completed his schooling in Lviv , where he lived and actively participated in the city's cultural life. In 1879 he made his debut with the one-act play "Dwie teściowe", which was premiered in Lublin .
In the following years he wrote comedies for the Lviv stage partly himself or in collaboration with other writers or actors. In chronological order these were Apollo Choromański , Aleksander Podwyszyński , Ryszard Ruszkowski , Lucjan Kwieciński , Zygmunt Przybylski , Jan Kazimierz Zieliński , Ignacy Kliszewski and Antoni Siemaszko .
Towards the end of his life, for health reasons, he first settled in Chernivtsi and finally on his estate in Targowica Polna in Pokutien, where he died on August 16, 1899.
