Adolf Becker (doctor)

Erwin August Adolf Becker , also Adolph Becker , (born April 2, 1871 in Hanover ; † September 1947 ) was a German physician . He was a surgeon and chief physician at the Hanoverian Children's Hospital.

Life

He was the son of the government and secret medical councilor Hermann Becker (1828–1908) from Hanover and his wife Therese, daughter of the royal Hanoverian real secret councilor Adolph Wedemeyer . After attending the Ratsgymnasium in Hanover, Adolf Becker studied medicine at the University of Marburg from the winter semester 1891/92 and moved to the University of Jena in 1894/95 . On July 1, 1896, he obtained his license to practice medicine in Jena. To the Dr. med. Adolf Becker also received his doctorate from the University of Jena on December 21, 1896. He then worked as an assistant doctor at the city hospital in Hildesheim and in 1897 moved to the Prov. Midwifery training institute in Opole . From 1898 to 1901 he was an assistant doctor at the Luisenhospital in Aachen and then moved to the surgical university clinic in Rostock until 1911 . During this time, Adolph Becker completed his habilitation on February 23, 1907 at the Medical Faculty of the University of Hanover and became a private lecturer . From 1912 he was an adjunct professor at this university and, as a specialist in surgery, he was head of the Hanoverian children's sanatorium.

Adolf Becker was a member of the German Society for Surgery and the Society of German Natural Scientists and Doctors.
