Adolf Dörge (born January 25, 1938 ; † March 24, 2012 in Munich ) was a German physician and university professor of physiology .

Life

After high school graduated Dörge study at the Medical Faculty of the Georg-August-University of Goettingen and placed there in 1968 his doctorate Dr. med. with a dissertation on the subject of changes in renal excretion sizes with electrolyte and water displacement between the intra- and extracellular compartments .

He later took on a professorship for physiology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and taught there until his retirement . Between 1999 and 2002 he headed a research project on the subject of cellular adaptation processes and electrolyte transport at the Physiological Institute of the LMU Munich , which was funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The project characterized cellular adaptation processes in which cellular electrolytes are involved by determining the cellular element concentrations and the cellular uptake of marker ions such as bromine and rubidium with the help of electron beam microanalysis .
