Adolf Göschen

Adolf Göschen (also Adolph Goeschen ; born February 20, 1803 in Königsberg (Prussia) , † March 27, 1898 in Hamburg-Harburg ) was a German Lutheran theologian and general superintendent of the General Diocese of Harburg .

Life

Göschen was a son of the law professor Johann Friedrich Ludwig Göschen . From 1820 he studied theology in Berlin , Tübingen and Göttingen and passed his first theological exam in Hanover in 1824. From 1825 to 1828 he was private tutor and repetiteur at the Theological Monastery in Göttingen. After he had passed his second exam in 1828 and was ordained in 1831 , he worked as a pastor at the penitentiary in Celle . In 1842 he became second pastor (chaplain) in Wunstorf , in 1848 superintendent in Ilfeld . From 1855 he was first pastor at the Trinity Church and general superintendent of Harburg . In 1881 he retired.

Göschen was awarded the Hanover Guelph Order and the Prussian Order of the Red Eagle (3rd class). District Administrator Bernhard von Goeschen was one of his children .
