Adolf Hörmann
Adolf Gustav Ernst Hörmann (born November 30, 1835 in Everode ; † June 30, 1906 in Berlin ) was a German engineer and professor of mechanics and mechanical engineering at the Royal Bergakademie Berlin , the Bauakademie Berlin and the TH-Charlottenburg .
Life
Adolf Hörmann was born as the son of Pastor Ludwig Hörmann. After graduating from the Polytechnic School in Hanover , he was initially assistant to Karl Karmarsch from 1858 to 1862 before he was employed as a teacher at the Clausthal Mining Academy for six years . In 1868 he was appointed to the Königliche Bergakademie Berlin, where he lectured on mechanics and mechanical engineering until 1901. From 1870 to 1879 he was a lecturer in mechanical engineering at the Bauakademie zu Berlin. In addition, from 1879 to 1906 he was professor of technology and engineering at the newly founded Technical University of Berlin .
Richard became his successor at the Bergakademie Berlin .
