Adolf Krebs

Adolf Krebs (born April 24, 1931 in Heidelberg ; † January 9, 2009 ) was a German chemist who dealt with organic chemistry .

Career

Adolf Krebs was born in Heidelberg in 1931. In 1961 he did his doctorate with Georg Wittig at the University of Heidelberg . He then worked and researched for several years at Columbia University in New York and in the Organic Chemistry Laboratory in Natick . In 1971 he completed his habilitation in Heidelberg. From 1973 to 1975 he worked as an adjunct professor at Heidelberg University. In 1975 he moved to the University of Hamburg , where he worked as a professor and from 1983 also as head of the chemistry department until 1984. In recognition of his work in the field of organic chemistry, he was awarded the title of Professor hc by the University of St. Petersburg . He passed away in 2009.
