Adolf Lex (politician)

Friedrich Emil Gustav Adolf Lex (born January 15, 1862 in Wiesbaden , † April 1, 1945 in Bad Homburg ) was a German local politician.

Life

Lex was born as the son of senior government councilor Rudolf Friedrich Lex (1821–1879). He studied law at the universities of Göttingen , Heidelberg and Berlin . He then entered the Prussian civil service and was a trainee lawyer in Homburg vor der Höhe and in Frankfurt am Main. In 1888 he came to Stade as a government trainee. In 1891 he became government assessor in Merseburg and in 1892 in Wiesbaden. As the successor to Friedrich Freiherr von der Goltz , he was appointed District Administrator of the Nassau Oberlahnkreis in 1901 . In this office he remained until 1921. At the same time Lex was from 1901 to 1920 a member of the Nassau Municipal Parliament for the Oberlahnkreis constituency for the DVP . In 1912 he was promoted to the Upper Government Council. From 1921 he was a senior government councilor in Kassel . In 1927 he retired.
