Adolf Luser (born October 8, 1886 in Lotschnau / Lačnov, † November 19, 1941 ) was an Austrian publisher .

Life and Publishing

Adolf Luser was born in 1886 in the then Austro-Hungarian Schönhengstgau in the farming village of Lotschnau, which today belongs to the district of Zwittau (Okres Svitavy).

Luser initiated in Vienna in 1922 established bookstore OHG ' German School Association and Society "with the name" Eckart Eckart Publishing and Bookstore ". In 1926 he established the Adolf Luser Verlag with an associated bookstore. The nationalist magazine “ Der getreue Eckart ” later appeared in this publishing house until 1943. One of the first employees at this völkisch magazine was Maria Grengg , who first created illustrations and then literary works. He was buried at the Vienna Central Cemetery .

The Adolf Luser Verlag was renamed during the Second World War to " Wiener Verlag Ernst Sopper & Karl Bauer ". In 1949 it was taken over by "Vorwärts" AG, and in 1970 by C. Bertelsmann Verlag .
