Adolf Schieffer (born June 16, 1886, possibly in Aachen , † after 1940) was a German doctor and SS officer who was employed as a pedagogue in an exposed position by the Nazi regime .

After participating in the First World War was followed by a medical degree , he in 1923 at the University of Göttingen with the promotion of Dr. med. completed.

Schieffer joined the NSDAP early on (membership number 736.884) and also joined the SS on October 7, 1932 (membership number 39.884) in the rank of Hauptsturmführer. After the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists, the doctor was given the management of Napola Köslin in Pomerania. On November 9, 1934 he was promoted to Sturmbannführer and on January 30, 1935 to Obersturmbannführer. He was also the bearer of the SS skull ring.

On April 30, 1935, Schieffer was appointed director of the newly established Napola Schulpforta , which was to break with the tradition of the old humanistic princely school founded in 1543 near Naumburg (Saale) . Previously only deserving educators had run this school. The fact that an SS functionary took over this position demonstrates the rigor with which the Nazi regime intended to reorganize the educational system.

On January 30, 1936, he was appointed SS-Standartenführer .

On October 1, 1937, Schieffer was appointed Vice-Inspector of the National Political Educational Institutions (NPEA) under formal retention of the school administration and promoted to SS-Oberführer on November 9, 1937.

On January 11, 1939, Schieffer was dismissed from the SS with immediate effect due to “moral misconduct” by Reichsführer SS Heinrich Himmler , and on January 19, 1939, he was given leave of absence as the director of the institution and vice-inspector of the NPEA. He then took up residence in Szczecin .

The Dresden Regional Court sentenced Schieffer on February 21, 1940 for "false accusations" to six months' imprisonment, which was however overturned due to the pardon of September 1, 1939 when he was drafted into the Wehrmacht on March 19, 1940 .

Adolf Schieffer's whereabouts and life data are unknown.
