Adolf Schmalix (* 1890 ; † 1957?) Was a weekly editor ( Echo Germania ), who is known for his anti-Semitic writings in particular.

Life

Originally Schmalix was active in the Kiel council movement and was involved in the establishment of the Social Democratic Republican Protection Association, a forerunner of the Reich Banner . Around 1923 moved Schmalix but the folkish -rechtsradikale stock and agitated for the Free Corps leader Hermann Ehrhardt . During the Hitler-Ludendorff putsch he briefly formed the provisional party leadership of the NSDAP with Dietrich Eckart . In the following year Schmalix joined the NSDAP, but this was not formally recognized until 1936/37.

His success in the local elections in Erfurt in November 1929, when he achieved 17.8% and 10 out of 52 seats with his list "Greater German Freedom Movement", was seen as a sensation and a signal for the rise of right-wing extremism in Germany . Soon his role in Erfurt was taken over by the NSDAP.

In the 1930 Reichstag election , the "Großdeutsche Liste Schmalix" stood up for candidacy, but only received about 26,000 votes and remained a long way from winning a mandate, for which 60,000 votes were required. In the Reichstag elections of 1932 the number of voters fell to a few hundred.

After the war, his books, Justice for Captain Ehrhardt (1923) and Are the Roosevelts Jews? (1939) placed on the list of literature to be segregated in the Soviet zone of occupation .

Schmalix was still a member of the district council for the Roding district in 1956 .
