History of the city of Bonn

Burman became known for his Historia universalis de Ubiorum ara seu Bonna , which was written in 1656 . The translator Koch suspects that it was a matter of a collection of material that should be completed later. In twenty-four chapters it describes the history of the city of Bonn from its foundation to 1656, in a second part it deals with the churches of Bonn and their history. The sources cited by him include works by Caesarius von Heisterbach , Cassius Dio , Gregor von Tours and Tacitus . For local history it is interesting to examine the name of the city, which was also called Verona in the Middle Ages .
