Adolf Weisskopf

Adolf Weisskopf (born February 20, 1899 in Basel ; † August 27, 1989 there ) was a Swiss sculptor and art teacher .

life and work

Adolf Weisskopf initially worked as an architect until 1928, after which he worked as a sculptor. He attended the general trade school in Basel , where he later became a specialist teacher, and went on study trips to Paris and Italy.

Weisskopf was a co-founder of Group 33 . Some of his works emerged from competitions organized by the Kunstkredit Basel-Stadt . He presented his works a. a. in the Kunsthalle Basel , the Kunsthaus Zürich and the Bündner Kunstmuseum . Free stone sculptures by Weisskopf were placed in public facilities in his hometown of Basel.
