Adolf Werneburg

Johann Wilhelm Adolf Werneburg (born August 2, 1813 in Heiligenstadt ; † January 21, 1886 in Erfurt ) was a German name and homeland researcher and forester . He worked as a forest master in Heiligenstadt and Erfurt.

Life

Adolf was the son of the Prussian Privy Councilor Gottfried Werneburg (1787–1864) and his wife Anna Katharina, née Witzlegen (1788–1863).

Werneburg published on silviculture , forest protection , ornithology and the history of Thuringia . He was a member of the Royal Academy of Charitable Sciences in Erfurt and a member of the Erfurt Association for History and Classical Studies .

He was married to Emilie Rumpel (1816–1877). The later Prussian general of the infantry Conrad von Werneburg (1847-1909) was his son.
