Adolf von Oer

Adolf Freiherr von Oer (born February 21, 1863 at House Egelborg near Legden ; † March 31, 1941 ibid) was a German politician ( center ).

Von Oer attended high school in Münster and Vechta . From 1882 to 1887 he studied law in Bonn and Göttingen. In 1887 he attended the forest academy in Hann. Münden . From 1888 to 1889 he was employed in the Coesfeld district office and then devoted himself to the management of the family estate.

Von Oer, who was a Catholic denomination, was a member of the center. For his party he was a volunteer or mayor of Legden, a member of the district council and the district committee of the Ahaus district and district deputy. He was a member of the Chamber of Agriculture of the Province of Westphalia . From 1897 to 1933 he was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Westphalia. In 1933 he was also a member of the provincial parliament. From May 1921 to February 1926 and again from January 1930 to July 10, 1933 he was a member of the Prussian State Council . There he was chairman of the center faction and from 1921 to 1923 chairman of the economic committee and then until 1926 deputy chairman of the economic committee. In 1933 he was the age president of the State Council.

He was the father of the administrative lawyer and politician Clemens Freiherr von Oer (1895-1976).
