Adolphe Muzito (* 1957 in Gungu , Kwilu Province ) is a Congolese politician . From the age-related resignation of Antoine Gizenga from October 10, 2008 until his resignation on March 7, 2012, he was Prime Minister and thus Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He belongs to the United Lumumbist Party (PALU) , the third largest party in the country.

Career

Even under the Mobutu Sese Sekos dictatorship, which ended in 1997, Muzito was an inspector in the Ministry of Budget. In 2002 and 2003 he took part in the negotiations to end the Second Congo War. Subsequently, he worked in the accounting department of the state-owned cement company of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In 2007 he was appointed Minister of Budget by Gizenga. When he resigned in 2008, head of state Joseph Kabila and Muzito appointed a PALU politician as the new prime minister in accordance with the coalition agreement of 2006 between the governing parties . He is generally considered a technocrat and an economist .
