Adrian Cristea (born November 30, 1983 in Iași ) is a Romanian football player . The midfielder has been under contract with CS Concordia Chiajna since September 2014 .

Career

society

Cristea's professional career started in 2002 in his hometown at Politehnica Iași in Divizia B , the second highest division in Romania. In his first year he played 27 games and scored five goals. In his second season, the club promotion to the Divizia A . He made his debut in the first division on July 30, 2004 in the 1: 2 loss to Rapid Bucharest .

A good performance for Iași made Dinamo Bucharest aware of the right midfielder. In the winter break of 2004/05 he finally moved to the capital club. After initial problems at Dinamo with only 25 appearances in two years, he developed into a regular player there. For the 2006/07 season he made international headlines when he scored three goals in ten games in the UEFA Cup .

After six years, Cristea left Dinamo in January 2011 and joined league rivals Universitatea Cluj . In the summer of 2012 he moved to Petrolul Ploieşti , six months later he was on loan to Standard Liège in Belgium for six months . After his return, the reigning Romanian master Steaua Bucharest took him under contract.

In January 2014, his contract in Bucharest was terminated. He was without engagement for half a year before he joined CS Concordia Chiajna in September 2014 . In September 2015, Cristea was banned for half a year. After that, he was rarely used and mostly found himself on the bench.

National team

Cristea made his debut in the Romanian national soccer team on February 7, 2007 against Moldova . For the European Football Championship in 2008 in Switzerland and Austria , he was appointed to the Romanians by national coach Victor Pi insurcă . The team was eliminated after the group stage. Cristea did not play a minute and was only a spectator. After the tournament, Cristea was no longer considered by Pițurcă and only returned to the national team under his successor Răzvan Lucescu in early September 2009. After two appearances in the World Cup qualification , he had to wait two years for the next nomination. The European Championship qualifier against Belarus on October 7, 2011 was also his last international match.
