Adriano Guarnieri (born September 10, 1947 in Sustante / Mantova ) is an Italian composer.

Guarnieri studied composition with Giacomo Manzoni and choral music with Tito Gotti at the Bologna Conservatory . He worked as the director of the Nuovo Ensemble "Bruno Maderna" in Florence . He later taught composition at the Conservatories of Florence, Pesaro and currently Milan .

In his compositions, Guarnieri often uses works by Pier Paolo Pasolini . Quare tristis , created in collaboration with Giovanni Raboni , was performed at the 1995 Venice Biennale . In 2003 he received the Franco Abbiati music critic's prize for his multimedia film opera Medea .
