Moore began her theater career in off-Broadway productions. Before her role in Orange Is the New Black , she had small roles in Blue Bloods and 30 Rock .
Moore is best known for the role of Cindy "Black Cindy" Hayes on the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black . She had a recurring role in the first two seasons and a lead role in the third season. In 2014, Moore received her first NAACP Image Award nomination for her appearance on the series. Moore also appeared in the film The Lennon Report . The film is about the night John Lennon was shot in 1980.
