The Advent Church in Sinzig , a town in the Ahrweiler district in northern Rhineland-Palatinate , was built in 1952 and is a typical building game for the architecture of the 1950s. The Protestant church is located at Alfred-Ott-Straße 19, at the corner of Beethovenstraße.

architecture

Exterior construction

The church is located in a new building area from the 1950s with mostly detached single-family houses and only stands out from them through the church tower . The church tower is visually too short compared to the nave and two thirds are integrated into the south side of the nave. The length of the church building is 17 meters and consists of five axes . The windows on the long sides are pointed arched, coupled windows. The nave has a gable roof and the tower has an only slightly inclined tent roof. The round arched sound openings of the tower were optically adapted to the church windows. A large cross rises on the tower. In recent years, a photovoltaic system in the shape of a cross has been installed on the southern part of the church roof .

inner space

The altar area is separated by an arch from the church hall and a large wooden cross dominates the back wall. Since the altar, pulpit and benches are also made of wood, a pleasant room atmosphere is created.
