The BKK advita was a German statutory health insurance from the group of company health insurance funds based in Alzey . It was a corporation under public law and saw itself as a sustainable ecological health insurance company with a preventive focus. On October 1, 2017, it merged with BKK24 .

The first forerunner of today's cash register was founded in 1875 for the employees of the Carl Zeiss optical workshop in Jena. A first merger of 5 company health insurance funds of the Carl Zeiss Foundation took place in 1995 to form BKK SCHOTT-ZEISS.

The forerunner advita BKK was founded in 1894 for the employees of the Pegnitzer Armaturen- und Maschinenfabrik AG. This company is now part of KSB Aktiengesellschaft , so that before 1995 it was their company health insurance fund. After mergers in 1995, the fund was opened nationwide in 2000 and operated under the name advita BKK . In 2007 it was based in Frankenthal with around 10,000 insured persons and had offices in Pegnitz and Halle (Saale) .

On January 1, 2009 advita BKK merged with BKK Schott-Zeiss to form BKK advita .

Distribution area

In November 2011, people with compulsory insurance (e.g. employees) and voluntarily insured (e.g. self-employed) as well as their co-insured family members from the following federal states were able to join the BKK advita : Baden-Württemberg - Bavaria - Berlin - Brandenburg - Bremen - Hamburg - Hesse - Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania - Lower Saxony - North Rhine-Westphalia - Rhineland-Palatinate - Saarland - Saxony - Saxony-Anhalt - Thuringia

Most recently, the box office was open nationwide in Germany.

Self-management

As an organ of self-administration, the BKK advita had an administrative board. This was made up of 14 people equally from the two areas of employer and insurance representatives.

The board of directors determines u. a. about the filling of the board position and has significant influence on regulations that are subject to self-determination (from the performance or contribution area).

Services

As a health insurance company, the BKK advita generally offered all services that the fifth book of the social security code provides. In addition, there were offers from the following areas: optional tariffs (deductible tariffs, optional tariff premium in the event of no performance, tariffs with reimbursement of costs, bonus tariffs for health-conscious behavior), integrated care (IGV), bonus programs, programs for the chronically ill (disease management programs: Diabetes mellitus type 1; Diabetes mellitus type 2; breast cancer; coronary heart diseases; bronchial asthma; chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases), alternative healing methods, dental health (professional teeth cleaning, dentures).

Contributions

Since January 1, 2009 the contribution rates have been standardized by the legislator. From January 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011, the BKK advita levied an additional, income- independent additional contribution i. H. v. 8.00 euros per month and from July 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012 i. H. v. 6.50 euros per month. From January 1, 2015, she raised an income-related additional contribution i. H. v. 0.9 percent of contributory income.

Additional insurance

Through a cooperation partner, insured persons could additionally cover the following areas: abroad; Tooth; outpatient; stationary; Alternative healing methods; others (care, KTG); Alternative practitioner treatment; Visual aid.

Environmental management system

Since December 2011, the BKK advita was the first health insurance company in Germany to be certified according to DIN EN ISO 14001: 2004. This means that the BKK advita actively operates an environmental management system and has this checked annually as part of audits by external bodies.
