Aecidium Liabi is a stand fungal art from the order of the rust fungi (Pucciniales). The fungus is a endoparasite the Korbblütlergattung Liabum . Symptoms of the infestation by the species are rust spots and pustules on the leaf surfaces of the host plants. It is common in South and Central America . Since only its secondary crop form is knownso far, it is classified in the genus Aecidium .

Macroscopic features
Aecidium liabi can only be recognized with the naked eye by means of the spore beds protruding on the surface of the host. They grow in nests that appear as yellowish to brown spots and pustules on the leaf surfaces.
Microscopic features
The mycelium of Aecidium Liabi grows as with all Aecidium TYPES intercellular and forms Saugfäden that grow into the storage tissue of the host. Its spermogonia grow on the upper side in groups on the host leaves. The aecia of the species growing underneath the leaves are light yellowish and cup-shaped. Their hyaline aecidiospores are 26–31 × 21–26 µm in size, angular, spherical and warty. The uredia of the mushroom are not known, and it is possible that they are not developed. The Telien the type have not been observed to date.
