history
The unpaved runway next to today's main runway was used as early as 1973. However, the Aeródromo de Robledillo de Mohernando was officially opened on June 3, 1979 in the presence of the then King Juan Carlos I and his son, the Prince of Asturias Felipe de Borbón y Grecia , current King of Spain and Brigadier General Mendizabal. The Brigada Paracaidista del Ejército de Tierra demonstrated their readiness for action in an air show in a parachute jump from a CH-47 Chinook at 1500 meters above the airfield.
The airfield once had a runway with night flight lights , which is now broken. In addition to the 24 hangars and a maintenance hangar, there is also a gas station and a restaurant . The heliport on the site is used by the rescue helicopter of the Servicio de Salud de Castilla-La Mancha (SESCAM) and, in the event of forest fires, by helicopters from the Servicio Forestal . The tower frequency is 123.325 MHz.
About 500 meters away, south of the airfield, is the Robledillo VOR-DME 113.95 MHz rotary radio beacon , identification: RBO (.-. -... ---).
