Afare Apeadu Donkor

Afare Apeadu Donkor (born February 10, 1944 ) is a retired Ghanaian diplomat .

Life

After studying economics at the University of Ghana , which he graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1968 , Donkor worked for Barclays , the National Investment Bank and the Universal Merchant Bank . In 1987 he founded the Consolidated Discount House , was its managing director and founded the Ghana Leasing Company and was its president. Two years later he founded CAL Bank , which he managed until 1996. He was a member of the founding commission of the Ghana Stock Exchange and later chaired it. From 1996 to 2002 he ran the financial advisory firm Sedgwick Consult . He served on the Cocoa Marketing Board and the Ghana Oil Company .

On July 18, 2002, Donkor became the Ghanaian ambassador in Beijing . He negotiated bilateral agreements between the People's Republic of China and improved the ICT Development Index . In 2007 he left the service.
