Affonso Guimarães da Silva or Afonsinho for short (born March 8, 1914 in Rio de Janeiro , † February 20, 1997 ibid) was a Brazilian football player .
career
During his club career, Rio-born Afonsinho played exclusively for clubs from his hometown. With Fluminense , he won three times and with América FC again the state championship .
In addition, the midfielder joined the Brazilian national team , with whom he took part twice in the Copa America and in 1938 in the World Cup in France .
