The African-American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) is an association of African-American film critics that annually awards various awards for outstanding achievements in film and television.
history
The Film Critics Association was founded in 2003 by Gil L. Robertson IV and Shawn Edwards . In December 2003, the African-American Film Critics Association officially announced the launch of its organization and published its first "Top Ten List".
AAFCA has partnered with the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA), GALECA: the Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics, the Latino Entertainment Journalists Association (LEJA), and the Online Association of Female Film Critics (OAFFC) to join forces with others To use film critic associations for "Equality in Media" and to promote diversity in the entertainment sector.
