The AFRISO-EURO-INDEX GmbH (proper spelling AFRISO ) is an environmental technology company with headquarters in Güglingen in Baden-Wuerttemberg . AFRISO develops and produces measuring, control and monitoring devices for building technology, industry and environmental protection.

Company history

The company was founded by Adelbert Fritz in 1869 in Schmiedefeld am Rennsteig in what is now Thuringia . When his son Franz Fritz joined the company, it was renamed Adelbert Fritz and Son. As telegram shortcuts and brand was AFRISO used.

At the beginning of the 20th century, precision pressure gauges, blood pressure monitors and temperature regulators were among the company's most important products. After the Second World War , Franz Fritz and his son Georg rebuilt the company in Kleingartach and Güglingen . Instead of pressure gauges, pneumatic level gauges were now manufactured, mainly for heating oil storage tanks. Overfill prevention systems and leak monitoring systems have been developed for the safe storage of mineral oil products.

At the beginning of the 1960s, sales and, in some cases, production companies were founded in almost all Western European countries. AFRISO became AFRISO-EURO-INDEX. After the 1973/74 oil crisis , a wide range of products was developed for the economical and environmentally friendly operation of heating systems. After the political upheaval in Eastern Europe, branches were established in Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine, Russia and China.

Today the company is continued in the fourth generation by Elmar and Jürgen Fritz.
