Senecio gallicus is a plant from the genus Senecio ( Senecio ) in the family of Compositae (Asteraceae).

features

Senecio gallicus is an annual stem therophyte that reaches heights of 10 to 40 centimeters. The leaves are elliptical to elongated, more or less thick and broadly toothed to pinnate. The upper leaves are single or double pinnate, their sections are elongated-linear, densely packed, mostly toothed and protruding. There are 0 to 3 outer and 13 to 21 inner bracts.

The flowering period extends from March to May.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 20.

Occurrence

Senecio gallicus occurs in the western Mediterranean . The distribution area includes Morocco, Portugal, Spain, France, Italy and the Balearic Islands.
