Dominique Chaix

Dominique Chaix (born June 8, 1730 in Rabou , Hautes-Alpes department , † July 21, 1799 in La Roche-des-Arnauds , Hautes-Alpes) was a French Catholic priest . He was best known for his activities as a botanist in what was then the Dauphiné . Its botanical author abbreviation is " Chaix ".

The Chaix-Mannsschild ( Androsace chaixii ), as well as the Latin names of the Austria mullein ( Verbascum chaixii ) [1] and other plants [2] were named after him.
